PM Game 1
- Clairemont 2A got their first ever Spring Sox season off on the right
foot against Lemon Grove/Spring Valley with a 15-6 victory. The bats
were alive, pounding out 15 hits in four at-bats. 11 of 12 girls contributed
at least one hit, with Briana Crouch, Sara Montag and Ashlyn Hrenko
collecting two hits apiece. Briana Crouch threw two scoreless innings,
allowing only one hit, with Emma Harris and Sara Moore keeping LGSV
in check the final three innings.
3:00
PM Game 2
- The "Barbies Gone Bad" didn't slow down much in game two of the double
header, winning again but by a tighter 11-9 score. Again in just 4 at-bats,
"The Barbies" pounded out 14 hits. Briana Crouch, Sara Montag,
Ashlyn Hrenko and Desiree Timothy had two hits apiece, while Heather
Link went 3-for-3. The highlight was in the 3rd inning when Teelee Merrill
hit a 2-run home run, immediately followed by a home run from Heather
(which was assured on an interference call on the LGSV first baseman).
While Sara Moore and Heather struggled at times to find a very tight
strike zone, they held LGSV in check on just five hits, and Clairemont
came back with seven runs in the last two innings for the victory.
All
in all, a great start to the Spring Super Sox season. The next double
header is Sunday, May 7 against Vista at Clairemont. Game times are 1:00
and 3:00. Come out and cheer the girls on !!
